PSA MEETING OVER THE STURT STREET COURT

On Friday 11 September PSA Industrial Officer Keith Knipe and three PSA Sheriffs Officers Worksite Representatives met with Courts Administrative Authority management to discuss staffing levels, security procedures and operational procedures.

Members identified 27 areas of concern with the Sturt St Court, the three main concerns identified as staffing numbers at point of entry, the absence of an X– ray machine at point of entry, inadequate showers and changing facilities.

Members were pleased with the outcome of the meeting, as agreement was reached on, staffing levels at point of entry, and shower and changing facilities.

Operational procedures were also agreed to regarding the court and over the next few days Sheriffs Officers from city locations will be visiting the court to familiarise themselves with the court layout.

The issue regarding the X-ray machine was referred for further consultation in three weeks. It was also agreed that regular consultation would occur on the other areas of concern.
