SA LOTTERIES ENTERPRISE BARGAINING PSA members met yesterday and endorsed a claim for an Enterprise Agreement. That claim is as follows: PSA seeks an outcome in an Enterprise Agreement which as a total package provides worthwhile benefits to members, including: A fair and reasonable salary increase for all, with the first payment date to be 1 October 2009. Protection of existing conditions. Job security. Improvements to conditions and allowances. Members support the continuation of the relationship between conditions of employment at SA Lotteries and those set out in the SA Government Wages Parity Agreement and therefore seeks the following: There be no forced redundancy for employees for the life of the Enterprise Agreement. That the term of the agreement be two and a half years. Pay increases of 2.5% per annum coming into effect on 1 October 2009, 1 October 2010 and 1 October 2011. A one-off payment of $600. An increase in paid maternity leave an paid adoption leave from 14 weeks to 16 weeks with a further increase to 18 weeks for those with not less than 5 years service and that these periods of leave may be shared by both prospective parents where they are covered by the proposed agreement. That these entitlements be in addition to leave that may be taken as a result of the Commonwealth's Paid Parental Leave Scheme. The overtime cap be increased to the top increment of ASO6. That On-Call/Recall rates be increased to $25.70 (Monday to Friday) and $44.95 (weekends and public holidays) from 1 October 2009. Night shift penalty to be increased to 20.5% from 1 October 2009. Employees who accrue Time off in lieu (TOIL) cannot lose that entitlement and can accrue up to 10 days. An employee will become entitled to payment of a 50% penalty from the commencement of the sixth hour where an employee is required by management to continue working without a meal or crib break. Negotiations commence next Tuesday, 16 February. Members will be kept informed of progress. The Public Service Association (PSA) met with DFC representatives to discuss the latest written directive to members at Magill Training Centre to supply a medical certificate for ANY absence from work. The PSA reminded the department of their responsibility to address absenteeism on an individual basis and to appropriately counsel any member they believe is abusing the system, prior to issuing the member(s) in question with written direction.
