PSA MEMBERS TAKE ACTION - FLINDERS MEDICAL CENTRE DISPUTE
After
more than 6 months of meeting with FMC Management to attempt to resolve
workload issues in the Eye Clinic and Day Ophthalmic Unit, little has
been achieved, therefore, PSA members have passed a resolution,
detailed below, to take action to address their workload issues.
"This meeting of PSA members are disappointed in the lack of action by
Senior Management to resolve the workload issues in FMC Eye Clinic and
Day Ophthalmic Unit. The excessive workload is a threat to the
Occupational Health Safety and Welfare of the staff and will not be
tolerated any further. PSA members will implement the following actions
commencing Monday 31st May, 2010.
(1) PSA members will work to rule - no hours outside of core working hours (8.30am -
4.30pm), will be worked and all members will take their breaks.
(2) PSA members will not be taking phone calls until 9am to prepare for the day.
(3) PSA members will not be taking phone calls during the lunch period (12.30pm –
1.30pm).
(4) PSA members will not accept any phone diversions from other areas to the front desk.
These actions will continue and may escalate until the issues are resolved to the satisfaction of PSA members."
PSA members in FMC are requested to understand and support their fellow
PSA members in this issue and are reminded that they should not
undertake the work of other union members with bans implemented during
the dispute.
