ENTERPRISE BARGAINING 2004

PSA members have overwhelmingly voted to maintain the current wages campaign. The previously endorsed enterprise bargaining claim included:

  • 12% salary increase over 2 years, with a minimum of $2,500 p.a.

  • Protection of all current conditions

  • Job Security

  • Improved conditions and benefits

  • Mobility across the Public Sector

  • 14 weeks paid maternity/adoption leave

  • Improvements to family friendly conditions

  • A Bargaining Agents Fee for non unionists

A number of key issues remain outstanding. These include the salary increase, the paid maternity leave and the bargaining agents fee.

The Government's initial offer of 3% was overwhelmingly rejected by members. The subsequent offer was also rejected as PSA members had made it very clear that 3.5% with an additional amount for base grade workers did not represent a fair deal for public sector workers. Members voted to escalate the industrial action occurring across the public sector.
