PUBLIC SECTOR DISPUTE CONTINUES

The long running Public Sector wages dispute remains unresolved.

'The PSA was extremely disappointed that the earlier Government offer of 3.5% pa, with 4% for lower paid workers remained unchanged, other than for the threshold for accessing the 4% being raised' said Jan McMahon, General Secretary of the Public Service Association.

While more workers can now access the 4%, the majority would remain at 3.5%.

FAYS Social Workers, Housing Trust Housing Managers, Medical Scientists are just some of the groups who have been offered no increase today, said Ms McMahon.

The Government’s position today does not reflect the significant movement by the PSA last week, when it reduced its claim by 2%.

PSA Worksite Representatives will meet at the PSA tomorrow (Wednesday 11 February) at 12.30pm to determine the future of the campaign.
