'ESCALATE CAMPAIGN' SAY
REPS
PSA Worksite Reps met today to receive reports on the latest Government EB offer, and to determine the future of the current campaign. The 'packed to capacity' meeting heard reports which included details of PSA's revised claim last week, where as an act of good faith in negotiations, PSA indicated its willingness to recommend 10% over 2 years if this was offered by Government. The meeting recognised that this was a significant move on the part of the PSA. Worksite Reps were also advised of the revised Government offer, which provided for 4%p.a. for ASO1, 2 and 3 (or equivalent), with 3.5% p.a. for other classifications. The following motions were unanimously passed by Worksite Reps: 'This meeting of Worksite Representatives condemns the Government for not genuinely improving its EB offer, and determines to escalate the campaign in support of a fair outcome. This meeting determines that escalation be as determined at Worksite/Agency level endorsed and approved by PSA; and also supports a rally being organised to allow full membership participation.' Members should now actively consider new bans relevant to their worksites for immediate implementation. Some areas have immediately placed a ban on all overtime. Revenue bans are being expanded within the health sector, and members in many Agencies will refuse to drive Government vehicles unless the Government has paid for their driver's licence. Details of the rally referred to in the above motion will be advised as soon as they are known. PSA FIGHTING FOR A FAIR
