Health members should not be bluffed by the rather sad attempt by sections of Health Management to hinder people participation in a democratic process to achieve a fair wage deal.

DAIS Public Sector Industrial Relations Unit have already issued the following advices on this matter for managers who may be missing the point:

“Agencies have started seeking advice from this office in relation to the basis upon which employees may attend this meeting. To ensure a consistent approach is taken across all agencies, employees may attend the meeting in their lunch break, or where their lunch break provides insufficient time to attend the meeting, employees may use their own accrued time (eg flexi-time, TOIL) to attend the meeting with the appropriate approval”
