ATTEND THE RALLY

As expected, some Agency intimidation has surfaced to stop PSA members attending the Rally.

Members should see this as a rather sad attempt to hinder participation in a democratic process.

All members have a right to a lunch break. You are not required to advise management of where you are going or what you are doing during this lunch break.

DAIS Public Sector Industrial Relations Unit have already issued the following advice on this matter for managers who may be missing the point:

“Agencies have started seeking advice from this office in relation to the basis upon which employees may attend this meeting. To ensure a consistent approach is taken across all agencies, employees may attend the meeting in their lunch break, or where their lunch break provides insufficient time to attend the meeting, employees may use their own accrued time (eg. Flexi-time, TOIL) to attend the meeting with the appropriate approval”.

ATTEND THE RALLY - SHOW THAT YOU CARE

Attend the Rally - the Government must know that all public sector workers are serious about receiving a fair wages deal.

This is your decision, not your Manager's.
