On Tuesday, 16 March 2004, PSA General Secretary, Jan McMahon, Chief Industrial Officer, Peter Christopher and Industrial Officer, Simon Johnson met with Government negotiators in an attempt to resolve the current Enterprise Bargaining dispute.

On 11 March 2004, Deputy President Hampton of the Industrial Relations Commission, following a Voluntary Conference of the parties, issued recommendations that encouraged senior and authorised representation of Government to meet the leadership of the PSA with a view to resolving the dispute.

No improved offer was forthcoming, with Government negotiators restating that the Government offer was fair and reasonable.

The Association is disappointed that yet again, members have been let down by their employer.

A further Voluntary Conference is set before the Industrial Relations Commission on Thursday, 18 March 2004.
