Flash![]() STRIKE
GOES AHEAD
“The Public Sector strike by PSA members will go ahead on Friday, 26 March” said PSA General Secretary, Jan McMahon. There has been no improved offer from Government and PSA members across thousands of worksites throughout South Australia will stop work. PSA was disappointed by what General Secretary, Jan McMahon described as a “stunt” that the Government, yet again sought a recommendation from the Industrial Relations Commission that the strike not proceed. Deputy President Hampton declined to support the Government recommendation stating that he would neither condone nor condemn the stoppage. A formal Statement will be issued by the Industrial Relations Commission. The only remaining matters before the Industrial Relations Commission relate to some exemptions for emergency services that require clarification. The decision to strike will not be affected. All members should stop work on Friday, 26 March 2004.
