TO A NON MEMBERS' FEE
On Wednesday 14th April 2004, a long awaited decision was handed down by the Full Bench of the Industrial Relations Commission that provided for the establishment of a Bargaining Agent's Fee (BAF) for non-unionists. This decision has made it possible for the Liquor Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union (LHMWU) to include a clause in relation to a BAF in an Enterprise Agreement that they are a party to. Whilst this decision does not directly relate to the PSA's current Enterprise Bargaining claim, it is yet another step forward in achieving such a fee. The Association will actively continue to advocate for non unionists to pay a BAF for the improvements in Wages and Conditions that the Association delivers. Clearly this most recent decision is a
positive step forward for members and the Union movement in general. A PSA membership application form for
non-members is available here. For further information contact: Industrial Officer Gayle Peak Ph: 8205 3288; Email: gp@cpsu.asn.au 15/04/04 |
