GOVERNMENT SEEKS FURTHER DELAY

Members have been previously advised that the Full Bench has set hearing dates commencing on 10 March for PSA to present its case for a 6% pa salary increase. Government had also been directed to Discover (provide a list of) relevant documents  by 15 February.

Yesterday afternoon the Government asked the Commission to abandon the March dates allocated for the PSA to put its case, and also for the deadline for Discovery to be extended to 31 March.

A Full Bench hearing at 8.00am tomorrow, Friday 11 February, will deal with the Government's application for delay.

PSA considers this action by Government to be quite outrageous. Government, not PSA, sought arbitration last year rather than negotiate, yet at every step it has not been ready to run its case.

The Government keeps dragging out your wage claim.

PSA has put significant effort and resources into this case, and believes that members deserve an outcome as soon as possible.
