FULL BENCH DECIDES

The Full Bench of the South Australian Industrial Relations Commission today handed down its Decision in the long running salary campaign and arbitration case.

Members will recall that the South Australian Government referred the matter to arbitration after refusing to negotiate with the PSA, following the rejection of its offer at ballot.

The Full Bench has determined the following salary adjustments:

  • 1 October 2004 - A01–3 (or equivalent) - 4.0%,

                                    - ASO 4-6 (or equivalent) - 3.75%.

                                    - ASO7 and above (or equivalent) - 3.5%

  • 1 October 2005 - A01–3 (or equivalent) - 4.0%,

                                    - ASO 4-6 (or equivalent) - 3.75%.

                                    - ASO7 and above (or equivalent) - 3.5%

The No Extra Claims provision will operate until 1 June 2006.

Despite Government opposition, the Full Bench had previously determined an interim 3.5% which was payable from October 2004. Payment of the new rates will take this into account.

The Decision of the Full Bench is final and not subject to appeal.

PSA will study the Decision in detail and make further judgments in respect to outstanding and future claims.
