JOB
SECURITY
In the lead up to the March 2006 State election, the Public Service Association will be contacting political parties to determine their policies and attitudes in respect to matters of significance to PSA members. Prior to that occurring, however, it has been decided to raise the issue of job security at this time. While recognising that the Premier, Hon Mike Rann, has given a “no forced redundancies” commitment, various factors have lead to concerns by members for the future. Accordingly, PSA has sought an assurance from the Premier that he will continue to support a no forced redundancies policy for public sector workers beyond 2006 for at least the next term of office. A letter in similar terms has also been sent to the Leader of the Opposition. An early response has been sought. Members will be kept informed of developments. For
