CALL CENTRE CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE
The Public Service Association is in the process of establishing a Consultative Committee for Call Centre members. It is important that members realise they can have input into decisions regarding their working conditions. This consultative committee will be an excellent forum to discuss and develop strategies to improve your working life. A preliminary meeting was held on Monday the 28th of August. A number of Call Centre employees attended and Peter Kutcher from the Service SA Call Centre was nominated as the Chairperson. All Call Centre members are encouraged to support the forum which will provide a direct networking between the various Government department Call Centres and the Union. A draft terms of reference document will be made available shortly. Call Centre members share a unique working environment. Call Centres operators are also one of the fastest growing occupations in the world. Each public sector Centre should ensure they are represented on the forum to encourage consistency in working conditions throughout the Public Sector. To date the following Call Centres either have representation or are in the process of confirming their nominated PSA worksite representative.
The Call Centres listed below require representation.
Future forums will focus on communication, information sharing and consultation with management. Matters to be considered will include:
The forum will meet quarterly at a city based venue. Each Call Centre should have both a worksite representative and a proxy to ensure their Centre is regularly represented. For more information on how to nominate or if you would like a worksite visit please call Jean-Guy Townsend on 8205 3294 or email: jgt@cpsu.asn.au PSA WORKING FOR
