ENTERPRISE BARGAINING
AGREEMENT CERTIFIED

The South Australian Government Wages Parity (Salaried) Enterprise Agreement 2006 has been approved in the Industrial Relations Commission of South Australia this afternoon, Thursday 21 December 2006. The PSA is a listed party to the Agreement.

The Agreement was amended to reflect the OPS3 and OPS4 allowances for Correctional Service Officers working in prisons.

This marks one of the final stages of the Enterprise Bargaining process which commenced in June 2006 and has included;

• Extensive consultation with members over the PSA claim

• Endorsement by Worksite Representatives and PSA Council

• Lodgement of claim and negotiations with Government

• Information and consultative meetings with PSA members in metropolitan and regional areas

• Ballot conducted by the State Electoral Office with overwhelming support, over 90% voting in favour of the agreement

The next step is for Government and agencies to issue the new pay scales following which the backpay can be paid to staff from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1^st October 2006.

The SA Government (Public Sector Salaried Employees) Arbitrated Enterprise Bargaining Award 2004 will be rescinded as of midnight tonight when the new Agreement comes into force. The PSA welcomes this positive news to end the year and wishes all members a safe and Merry Christmas.
