23 December 2011 The PSA has this morning followed up on a story in today's Australian newspaper that the Premier has flagged more job cuts. INCREASE IN CASUAL LOADING 21 December 2011 The PSA has won for PSA members employed as casual workers an increase in the casual loading from 20% to 25%. MID-YEAR BUDGET REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS 19 December 2011 The State government's much awaited Mid Year Budget Review was released on December 16 by Treasurer, Jack Snelling. MID-YEAR BUDGET REVIEW 16 December 2011 Treasurer Jack Snelling today handed down the Mid-Year Budget Review (MYBR). SHARED SERVICES 16 December 2011 Today, Treasurer Jack Snelling is expected from media reports, to announce that the next stage of the Shared Services project, ICT, will now not go ahead. SERVICES SA - MEMBERS WIN 15 December 2011 Members will be able to accrue up to 22.5 hours of TOIL prior to working overtime. TRANSFER OF ASSETS MANAGEMENT FROM HEALTH TO SPOTLESS - BRIEF NO. 4 14 December 2011 As members were advised in previous Briefs, State Cabinet had agreed to the transfer of Asset Management Services to the Across Government Facilities Management run by the Department for Planning & Infrastructure. HILLS COMMUNITY HEALTH RESTRUCTURE PROCESS 7 December 2011 The PSA has received advice from Country Health SA Local Health Network that a new integrated approach to health service delivery is to commence. MODBURY HOSPITAL UPDATE 7 December 2011 PSA Industrial Officer Alan Wheeldon and PSA Worksite Representative Lynn Marwick met recently with Modbury Hospital General Manager Lynne Cowan. HIGH COURT CASE STARTS 28 November 2011 The High Court will commence hearing the Public Service Association;s case regarding the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of South Australia to deal with matters arising from the 2010 Budget tomorrow, Tuesday 29 November. LOCAL HOSPITAL NETWORKS UPDATE 21 November 2011 The PSA has received correspondence confirming the progress of the Due Diligence process being undertaken across three of the Local Health Networks. REVIEW OF ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL WORK LEVEL DEFINITIONS 16 November 2011 The 2010 Enterprise Agreement (EA) introduced a new career structure for those Professional Officers (POs) who were deemed to be Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). WAGES & CONDITIONS CLAIM 15 November 2011 The current South Australian Government Wages Parity (Salaried) Enterprise Agreement 2010 expires on 30 June 2012. DECD POLICY AND PRACTICE DIRECTORATE RESTRUCTURE 15 November 2011 On 10 November 2011, the PSA attended the first consultative session provided by Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) in respect to the restructure of the Policy and Practice Directorate. WORKSITE REPRESENTATIVES MEETING 9 November 2011 The PSA has called a meeting of all Worksite Representatives for Tuesday 15th November 2011. FULL INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS COURT HEARS PSA'S CASE - TEMPORARY INJUNCTION CONTINUES 7 November 2011 The Full Court of the Industrial Relations Court today heard the PSA's Application regarding the current metropolitan hospital car parking Dispute. CONSULTATION RE: NEW RAH 3 November 2011 SA Health has advised that consultation and communication during the new RAH design and development phase with RAH employees and their unions will be mainly through two forums. MEETING WITH EDUCATION AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT CHIEF EXECUTIVE 1 November 2011 PSA General secretary Jan McMahon, with PSA Councillors and Acting Chief Industrial Officer met with the Chief Executive of the Department for Education and Child development on Monday 31st October 2011. TRANSITION OF SA HEALTH FACILITIES MANAGEMENT TO DPTI 31 October 2011 Recently there have been rumours circulating in Health about the transition of the management of these functions to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure. LONG SERVICE LEAVE - HOSPITAL CAR PARKING 24 October 2011 No change was made by the Premier over the weekend to Long Service Leave (despite some media reports hat this would occur). HOSPITAL CAR PARKING - NEW DATE FOR COURT HEARING 10 October 2011 The full court of the Industrial Relations Court has now set Monday 7 November to hear the PSA.case. 6 ADDITIONAL STAFF FOR FAMILIES SA CONCESSIONS AND SUPPORT SERVICES 7 October 2011 On Thursday 29 September 2011, PSA Worksite Representatives and Industrial Organiser Michael Collins met with management to discuss workload issues currently affecting PSA members in Concessions and Support Services. HOUSING SA FLEXITIME ARRANGEMENTS 28 September 2011 The Department of Families and Communities, Housing SA Division, has two operating policies for flexitime provisions. GLENSIDE NEW FACILITIES UPDATE 28 September 2011 On Friday 16 September 2011, the PSA attended the Glenside New Mental Health Facilities Consultative Committee meeting. HOSPITAL PARKING: PSA SECURES INJUNCTION 23 September 2011 PSA members who are paying new or increased car parking rates or have been threatened with fines for not complying with new car parking arrangements at metropolitan hospitals have won a reprieve, following PSA's successful application for an injunction in the Industrial relations Court this morning. HOSPITAL CAR PARKING PSA LEGAL ACTION 21 September 2011 The hospital car parking dispute has taken a new turn with the PSA commencing legal action in the Industrial Relations Court. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CENTRAL OFFICE OH&S STRUCTURE UPDATE 21 September 2011 Members of the PSA have recently raised numerous concerns regarding Occupational Health and Safety compliance within the Central Office of the department of Health in Citicentre. DEPARTMENT FOR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES SICK LEAVE 9 September 2011 The Public Sector Act 2009 came into effect in February 2010. DEPARTMENT FOR WATER RESTRUCTURE 9 September 2011 The PSA held a meeting with members from the Department for Water on 7th September to discuss key issues regarding the new review and restructure. SA HEALTH DEPARTMENTAL REVIEW UPDATE 9 September 2011 On Wednesday 31 August the PSA met with Mr David Swan, Chief executive of SA Health, in relation to the release of an amended Organisational Structure and Functions Chart developed as a result of the recent review of the Department of Health. FAMILIES SA BANS 9 September 2011 PSA Executive met on 5 September 2011 and endorsed members embarking upon an industrial campaign in relation to the many issues related to the implementation of the KRONOS time keeping system. NEW ROYAL ADELAIDE HOSPITAL UPDATE 1 September 2011 The Public Service Association (PSA) is participating in the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (NRAH) Consultative Forum and Senior Industrial Officer Sue Cummins attended the meeting on Monday 29 August, 2011. 31 FLINDERS STREET EVACUATED 26 August 2011 31 Flinders Street was evacuated today at about 12.45 pm after a pipe burst during routine cleaning of the air conditioning system which resulted in diluted hydrochloric acid being released into the building. RED CROSS BLOOD SERVICE SA COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT 18 August 2011 The PSA and other stakeholders attended the Red Cross Blood Service of SA Collective Agreement bargaining meeting on Monday August 15 2011. MINDA ENTERPRISE BARGAINING 2011 18 August 2011 The PSA continues to negotiate with Minda management for the development of a successor Enterprise Agreement to cover PSA members employed by Minda. ON-CALL ENTITLEMENTS 15 August 2011 It has come to the attention of the Public Service Association (PSA) that some members were not receiving the appropriate remuneration when working on-call. AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS BLOOD SERVICE SA ENTERPRISE BARGAINING 2 August 2011 On Monday 25 July 2011, the PSA and other stakeholders met with Australian Red Cross Blood Service SA to discuss feedback in regard to the ARCRBS (SA) Collective Agreement revised Wages and Conditions offer. DISABILITY & DOMICILIARY CARE SERVICES INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS FORUM 1 August 2011 On 19 June 2011, the PSA hosted the regular Industrial Relations Forum. TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS DISPUTE - SA DENTAL SERVICE COUNTRY STAFF 18 July 2011 The PSA wrote to the General Manager, Statewide Dental Service, on 14 July 2011. The letter formally advised of a dispute. UNDERPAYMENT OF WAGES 6 July 2011 The PSA wrote to the Chief Executive, Department for Families and Communities on 19 January 2011 requesting assistance to resolve a matter of alleged incorrect application of annual leave loading resulting in an underpayment of wages. PSA CASE TO PROCEED TO HIGH COURT 8 June 2011 Two judges of the High Court today accepted the PSA case for a full hearing and referred it for hearing by the Full Court (7 judges) on a date to be fixed. EATING DISORDERS UNIT UPDATE 8 February 2011 The announcement by the Minister of Health to develop a comprehensive, state-wide model of care for people with eating disorders within the next three months has been welcomed by the PSA.
