MINDA ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT

The PSA attended the Enterprise Agreement (EA) meeting at Minda on 12 February 2007. The key core EA issues identified at the meeting were salary quantum, length of the agreement and back pay to November 2006.

Minda management offered the following in an effort to reach agreement:

  • Salary Increase – 3% per annum payable from November 2006 with a further 3% payable from November 2007.

  • Back pay of the 3% increase to first pay period on or after November 2006.

  • Term of the agreement to be either two years from November 2006 or 18 months from date of lodgment (the term of the agreement was discussed further with the two year option being favoured).

  • Higher Duties Allowance – the qualifying period for higher duties will be two days for non rostered staff (reduced from the current five days).

  • TOIL must be granted within one month of an employee request for time off. Management may also request that TOIL be taken with one month where excessive TOIL is accrued however the employee may elect to have TOIL paid out at a rate of 150%.

The PSA made further representation with regard to the salary quantum advising that the 3% per annum leaves Minda employees behind SA Government parity wages particularly professional officers who now have a new classification structure.

The next EA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 6 March 2007. The draft Enterprise Agreement document, which is to be issued soon by management, will be reviewed at this meeting. Subsequent to this the PSA will arrange a meeting of members at Minda to discuss the offer from Minda management.
