MONEY DROUGHT?
Many members who are undertaking research have indicated that the 2006 Budget money has dried up and are now waiting for this years Budget money to hit the coffers before finalising or undertaking further research. This is distressing to say the least. The State Government makes public assurances that the environment is a priority and something that deserves greater support. Climate Change research must be a priority! But, when it comes to allocating any increase to the Budget for DEH these words carry as much weight as a feather. The Public Service Association has already delivered a Budget Submission. Members can access the PSA website for the full copy. This in no way limits further submissions or lobbying for extra funds for DEH members. PSA members undertake research in a variety of areas from Climate Change to Bio-Conservation. Many members are distressed that they have not been able to advance their research for up to three months due to budget constraints! If you find yourself in this situation or one similar, contact the PSA. With this information and members cooperation we have a good opportunity of improving this frustrating situation. Non-members are encouraged to join and contribute to any campaign. If
you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact PSA
