YOUR RIGHTS AT WORK WORTH VOTING FOR

Saturday's federal election is important for working families.

The "Your Rights at Work: Worth Fighting For" campaign and the PSA have campaigned against the Howard Government's industrial relations laws. WorkChoices has stripped fundamental rights and protections from most workers, including many PSA members not directly employed by the State Government.

Further, the Commonwealth government has linked provision of funding to the requirement for employers to provide Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs).

Day after day, month after month, stories about how these laws have been eagerly applied to strip pay and conditions from workers have become all too common.

The clear intent of WorkChoices has been to remove basic protections from the vast majority of Australian workers.

This election is a referendum on workers' rights.  Whilst the PSA is not affiliated to any political party, it vigorously opposes WorkChoices.

Working Australians and their families cannot continue to suffer unnecessarily under an Industrial Relations system that removes fairness from workplaces. This Saturday, a choice needs to be made. You have the opportunity to decide.

The PSA is committed to securing improvements to conditions of employment and wages for its members, and to ensure that future generations have an industrial relations system that is fair and decent.
