FAMILIES SA BOUNDARY REALIGNMENT PROJECT

The Public Service Association has been advised that Families SA intends to have boundary realignment in place by 1 July 2008, as a result of the South Australian Cabinet approving the establishment of twelve State Government regions. Adjustment will be required for every district's boundary, and there is also the intention to match staffing with workloads on an equitable basis across all District Centres.

PSA Worksite Representatives Angela Giles and Teri Farley, and PSA Industrial Officer Vanessa Ravenhill attended a meeting with Department for Families and Communities representatives on Tuesday 4 December 2007 to discuss the issue and establish a consultative process.

The PSA was advised that a number of staff forums have been arranged to provide staff with an opportunity to discuss the draft Human Resource Management Principles and raise any issues and concerns. PSA industrial staff will also be attendance at these forums.

A further meeting has been arranged with the Department on Thursday 20 December 2007, as an agreed part of the communication and consultation strategy.

Members are encouraged to provide feedback on the draft principles and raise issues and concerns through their local worksite representative or to PSA Industrial Officer Vanessa Ravenhill on vr@cpsu.asn.au or 8205 3251.
