2007 AND BEYOND

As 2007 comes to a close, we reflect on the achievements of the past year and the challenges of the future.

The PSA has been successful in achieving outstanding outcomes for many members in various career groupings and individual worksites.

The past twelve months has seen the PSA continue to advocate on behalf of members and conduct a number of successful campaigns, including the "Your Rights at Work, Worth Fighting For" campaign which continues to be instrumental in ensuring Australian workers and their families are protected from unfair workplace laws.

Additionally, public sector skills shortages, impact of jobs cuts in regional South Australia and family/work life balance continue to be key issues.

Whilst significant achievements have been made in 2007, 2008 provides many more challenges for the PSA and its members.

Continuing Agency restructures (especially in Health), Shared Services and the new Public Sector Bill will see the PSA vigorously representing its members.

On behalf of the PSA, best wishes are extended to members, their families and friends.
