WORKCOVER UPDATE

The Rann Government today released in Parliament the report into WorkCover. Legislation is to be considered by the Government tomorrow, and could be introduced into Parliament as early as tomorrow.

The Premier has stated that the Government has not yet determined how it will respond to the recommendations to cut payments to injured workers.

PSA, together with SA Unions, will not stand by and allow injured workers to be further harmed by loss of pay.

PSA members roles are to look after the community and SA families. It is unacceptable for those injured in performing these roles to suffer further loss.

PSA members deliver and implement Government policy. They should not be injured carrying out these policies and suffer loss of pay.

We urge the Government to reject the recommendations of the WorkCover Board.
