DEH KESWICK PARKING DEBACLE
The Public Service Association (PSA) has been made aware of the change in parking arrangements at 1 Richmond Road, Keswick. Recently the site has transferred ownership. Unfortunately the new landlord has decided to capitalize on the investment and collect further income from a paid parking arrangement. The PSA has expressed its dismay at the new arrangements but at this stage is unable to effect a substantial change in the local policy. The Department for Environment and Heritage has conceded that the transition to paid parking has been managed in a less than effective fashion and is aware of the impact of the change in conditions for its employees. Management representatives from DEH have been working to address the management of the available parking and are seeking to provide optimum spaces albeit at a monetary value. The PSA will examine the legalities of the parking policy and will seek to ensure members are treated fairly and equitably and that a suitable arrangement is concluded for the parking availability. The PSA urges any members who feel that the transition to the parking arrangement is unsatisfactory to forward their concerns in writing to the DEH Chief Executive Officer and to vote with their feet and seek to find any other suitable arrangement that will result in minimal profit for the ambitious landlord. Any questions or concerns please contact PSA Industrial Officer Wayne Dungey on 8205 3238 or wkd@cpsu.asn.au PSA SUPPORTING PUBLIC SECTOR EMPLOYEES 4 March 2008 |
