COUNTRY HEALTH SA CLINICAL STRUCTURES

Country Health SA, on the advice of the Clinical Leadership Team has developed a Draft Project Brief for Clinical Structures in Country Health SA.

The purpose of the Project Brief is to identify and recommend a framework and process for the implementation of Clinical Structures for Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health in the new clusters in Country Health SA.

As a key stake holder, the PSA has been requested to make comment on the Draft Project Brief by the end of May 2008.

Once the Project brief has been finalized a detailed implementation plan will be developed and work within time lines identified in the draft brief.

Steve Glover, Project Manager, will commence preliminary work on the project. A team of project staff and clinicians will shortly be appointed to ensure that there is clinical input at all levels and at every stage of the project.

Consultation Process

A key component of the project will be an extensive consultation process on the project brief itself and then on the implementation.

First Stage

The first stage will be to seek staff, Industrial Body (PSA) and professional body comment on the project brief.

Second Stage

The second stage will be to put in place structures that enable key stakeholders to contribute to the work of the project.

Reference Groups will be established in the following areas, Industrial,Allied Health, Medical,Nursing,Consumer, Local Boards, and from July 2008 Health Advisory Council.

Country Health SA groups will also have a key role. In particular, the Clinical Governance Committee, Country Health SA Industrial Liaison Committee, and the Rural Doctors Reference Group.
