SHARED SERVICES BANS AND LIMITATIONS IMPOSED IN PAYROLL AND ACCOUNTS SECTIONS

A well attended meeting held at the PSA on Friday 19 September 2008 at 12.30pm, which included regional members, passed the following motion:

That this meeting of PSA members affected by the Government's Shared Services proposals:

  • Endorses the PSA position that no member should be disadvantaged as a result of the transition to Shared Services,

  • Expresses concern that Government decisions to date will result in significant financial losses to members, negative impacts on families, reduction in service to the community and loss of jobs in regional South Australia, and accordingly;

  • Determines to not co-operate with the introduction of Shared Services, and to Work to Rule

  • That Payroll staff not process Enterprise Bargaining increases.”

These actions may delay pay increases and back payments in some cases, but will not impact on processing of normal pay.

The Bans will apply to the Government proposal to move Health Payroll and Accounts sections into the Shared Services office of Department of Treasury and Finance in late November and early December. This motion also applies to members in other areas including those that the Government plans to move in 2009 and 2010 to Shared Services.
