The
PSA Shared Services meeting held on Wednesday 5th November was very
well attended. Members from all metropolitan health units &
hospitals attended to talk about the concerns they have with the
proposed move to Shared Services SA (SSSA). Country members were
involved via a telephone hook up.
The
resolution to continue and then escalate the industrial action was
unanimously supported by the PSA members at the meeting. That motion
is here. The
Government letter to the PSA of 4 November 2008 is here.
PSA
members raised a number of issues that are arising in work sites as a
result of having industrial bans in place.
1.
Management initiated action to pay individuals in cash, because time
sheets were not passed on to payroll and individuals did not receive
their pay in the normal way.
PSA
advised members to take no action to rectify the payroll records in
this situation or to raise over payments.
2.
What action should members take if management attempt to move
equipment and/or furniture and files?
PSA
should be advised immediately if any information becomes available
about private contractors being employed to move equipment
and
files to Shared Services SA (SSSA). Members should not co-operate
with any action to move files or equipment to SSSA.
3.
All PSA members are expected to participate in bans where
appropriate. Government needs to get the message that PSA members are
serious about not moving to SSSA.
Contact
the PSA and organise for an industrial officer to
attend
your work site if you have any concerns regarding the industrial
bans.
