FAMILIES SA INDUSTRIAL ACTION UPDATE
Public Service Association (PSA) Worksite Representatives met on Tuesday 2nd December 2008 to discuss the Department for Families and Communities Chief Executives response to members demands and call for adequate funding for child protection. Members unanimously passed the following resolution. "This meeting of Families SA Worksite Representatives, acknowledge receipt of correspondence from Joslene Mazel, Chief Executive, Department for Families and Communities and recognises the following commitments:
PSA Members call for ongoing meetings between PSA and DFC Executive to resolve outstanding issues including lifting of 4% budget savings, adequate resourcing in Child Protection and further improvements in filling existing temporary and ongoing vacancies. Effective
immediately, as a sign of good faith, PSA will defer the current
industrial action whilst negotiations continue. A
special Families SA Worksite Representatives meeting will be held on
the 13th January 2009 to review these negotiations." Please
