SHARED SERVICES REFERRAL TO THE IRC
The PSA has referred a number of concerns to the Industrial Relations Commission relevant to dispute number 6259/2008 between SA Government (Department of Health) and the PSA. This matter is to be heard on Friday 5 December 2008 at 9.15am. The concerns arise from an email from Shared Services SA to employees “in scope” in Health for transfer to SSSA, headed “Transition Notification #8” dated 2 December 2008. This email refers to proposed transition dates of 8 December 2008, 12 January 2009, 19 January 2009, 2 February 2009, 9 February 2009, 16 February 2009, these dates were not discussed with the PSA. Previously in the Industrial Relations Commission, the Government had stated that they would not be anticipating a move until 16 February 2009. PSA had requested, on 27 November 2008, that all employees be given 6 weeks notice of any such move. A letter from Government, faxed to the PSA after 4pm on Friday 28 November 2008, stated “At this stage it is proposed that physical transitions will take place between 12 January 2008 and 16 January 2009. No details were given. Before the PSA could discuss the scope and implications with Government the Notification #8 was issued to employees. The PSA also had not received the list of “independent assessors” proposed by the Government, to conduct the classification assessments as agreed as part of the settlement of the dispute. the PSA had yet to see, or discuss this list. This list has since been supplied by email after the PSA advised of its referral to the IRC. Any enquiries or comments to Acting PSA Assistant Chief Industrial Officer Ian Peak on email ian@cpsu.asn.au or phone (08) 8205 3294.
