WORKPLACE FLEXIBILITY PROPOSAL UPDATE
The Public Service Association (PSA) has been contacted by the Department for Families and Communities(DFC) to discuss the possibility of including Community Residential Care(CRC), Marni Wodli and Transitional Accommodation(TA) into the Workplace Flexibility Proposal agreed upon for Secure Care shift workers.
This concept was initially put forward by the PSA and as such, the PSA viewed this request favorably. PSA Worksite Representatives Darryl Winter, Pam Saunders and Susan Lawrence, all from TA, and PSA Industrial Officer Jean-Guy Townsend attended a meeting on the 24th March 2009 with DFC Human Resources officers to discuss the ramifications of such a proposal.
Both parties agreed that the current arrangements would be reflected in the new proposal. This will ensure that Paid Days Off and current rostering will remain in place with the inclusion of a CRIB Break.
Due to TA working a 5 week rotating roster, a separate proposal may be required or at the least some words specific to this situation will be included in the current proposal.
It was also agreed that DFC will write to the PSA giving assurances that the status quo of rosters and PDO's will remain in place and that the new Workplace Flexibility Proposal will be included in the 2009 Enterprise Agreement.
The PSA will advise members when it receives written confirmation from DFC.

If you have any other questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact your PSA Worksite Representatives or PSA Industrial Officer, Jean-Guy Townsend on 8205 3233 or email jgt@cpsu.asn.au
