Health Procurement and Supply Chain Consolidation Project

The PSA attended a consultative meeting at Department of Health (DH) to discuss the progress of the SA Health Procurement and Supply Chain Consolidation Project.

DH advised the future scope of services for SA Health procurement, contracting and supply chain service is currently in the process of being determined with detailed business processes, structures, roles and systems necessary to deliver the services yet to be designed.

Consultation with unions and staff regarding in scope and out of scope functions will be provided with DH planning further roadshows in the near future.

The PSA raised the issue of members retaining access to salary sacrifice. DH responded advising they were aware of this issue and are working on options to facilitate the retention of salary sacrifice provisions.

The PSA encourages members to attend the roadshows and use the opportunity to address their questions directly to management. The PSA also encourages members to forward any questions and/or relevant feedback to the PSA for follow up with DH.

The HR Principles covering staff affected by this project have been developed and are attached to this brief.

The next Procurement and Supply Chain Consolidation Project consultation meeting is scheduled for Thursday 28 May 2009, where it is expected that more detail about the scope of services will be provided. Any questions or comments you have for this meeting can be forwarded to PSA Industrial Officer, Ted Szarek by email to tcs@cpsu.asn.au
