MINDA INCORPORATED
EMPLOYEE/UNION COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT NO. 7 2009 BALLOT PROCESS COMMENCED - REMEMBER TO VOTE

Negotiations between PSA and MINDA for the MINDA Incorporated Employee/Union Collective Agreement No. 7/2009 have now been finalised. MINDA management have now commenced the ballot process. A full copy of the Agreement EA 7 is available to members at your workplace and this is also available via the Portal for those members who have access to a computer.

The offer contains the following key items:

  • A 2 year Agreement expiring on 25 November 2010

  • Pay increases of 3% for the first year and 2.5% for the second the year

  • The initial 3% will be back paid from the first full pay period on or after 26 November 2008, TO BE PAID NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 26 JUNE 2009

  • 8 weeks paid Maternity Leave

  • Full choice of Superannuation Funds for all employees

  • Every employment position covered by the Agreement will have a job description and classification structure

  • More flexible annual leave provisions including the ability to request leave at ½ pay and no restrictions on single days or weekly blocks of leave

Further claims which have been resolved and will be implemented but are not able to be included in the agreement include:

  • VSO structure (4 VSO positions are to be implemented in the MINDA laundry service)

  • Police clearance renewals for existing employees will be conducted by MINDA during working hours at MINDA's expense

  • Pay errors will be rectified by Payroll via electronic payments within 3 working days at all times.

PSA and MINDA have been actively engaged in discussions regarding the claims made as part of Enterprise Agreement negotiations to reclassify employees who are engaged as Developmental Educators (DES) into the Professional Stream (PSO) and concerns about the attraction and retention of Professional employees.

Developmental Educators

MINDA is committed to reviewing its current position once the Public Sector Workforce Relations (PSWR) reclassification is completed and all factors relating to the reclassification and transitional arrangements are known.

Professional Employees

This will be monitored during the life of EA7 and reviewed during negotiations for EA8.
