EPA BUDGET SAVINGS AND REVIEW OF EPA STRUCTURES

The Public Service Association (PSA) has been made aware of the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) budget savings target and impact on the agency.

EPA has outlined a range of measures including the reduction of 16 FTE's over the next 3 years. The EPA has also announced which EPA divisions will be under review:

  • Policy, Planning and Communication

  • Regulation and Compliance

  • Radiation Protection, and

  • Science and Sustainability

The PSA does not support further reduction in Public Sector jobs and believes that any further rationalisation of the Public Sector will significantly reduce service delivery and result in unreasonable workloads for Public Sector workers.

The PSA will seek to be actively involved in any review or restructure to ensure the needs of members are addressed and that members are involved in the consultation process.

Please contact PSA Member Rights Hotline should you have any concerns or comments regarding the implications of the budget cuts and reviews to be undertaken at the EPA on 8205 3227 or email enquiry@cpsu.asn.au
