The PSA Legal Counsel made its opening submission on behalf of SSO, ECW and AEW members in the Industrial Commission proceedings today, Friday 18^th September, 2009.

The PSA's submission focused mainly on the disproportionate percentage of contract employment, low classifications, workload and unpaid overtime issues facing ancillary staff.

PSA General Secretary Jan McMahon, Chief Industrial Officer Peter Christopher and industrial Officer Kerrin Martin attended the proceedings today.

The Government will present its opening submissions in support of it's case shortly. Cross examinations of witnesses will occur in coming weeks.

The proceedings will continue till the end of October. The PSA will keep members informed as further information becomes available.
