MAGILL REPLACEMENT

Public Service Association(PSA) General Secretary Jan McMahon and Chief Industrial Officer, Peter Christopher, recently toured the Magill Training Centre and met with members to discuss the new proposal to build a new secure care facility to replace Magill Youth Training Centre.

The PSA is committed to ensuring the community of South Australia has a safe and modern secure care facility and a safe and secure worksite for members.

Members unanimously passed the following resolutions;

  1. PSA members at Magill Youth Training Centre call on Families SA & the Government to honour their 1992 agreement with Magill staff regarding the replacement of the facility

  2. PSA members are to be represented on all committees associated with the replacement of the Magill Youth Training Centre.

Magill members demand that agreements be honoured and that they receive preference to staff the new centre.

On a lighter note, PSA Vice President, Peter Hewish was presented with a commemorative 30 year PSA badge. The General Secretary congratulated Peter, thanking him for his tireless and dedicated representation of PSA members.
