The Full Bench of the South Australian Industrial Relations Commission handed down it's 1^st stage decision for the Department of Education and Children's Services (Schools and Preschools) Arbitrated Enterprise Bargaining Award.

Throughout the Arbitration Process, the PSA had made a number of submissions on behalf of SSO, AEW's and ECW's.

Key points in the 1^st stage decision for SSO's, AEW's and ECW's are:

• Salary increase of 4% from 1^st pay period on or after 1^st October 2009, 1^st pay period on or after 1^st October 2010, 1^st pay period on or after 1^st October 2011

• Nominal expiry date of 30 June 2012

Today's decision deals with a range of preliminary topics, however, a further decision will be handed down on a date yet to be fixed on a number of outstanding matters.

A separate Award will be made for affected TAFE employees.
