ANNA STEWART MEMORIAL PROJECT 24 MAY – 4 JUNE 2010
The
Anna Stewart Memorial Project (ASMP) has been developed to pay tribute
to the life and work of Anna Stewart who worked passionately and
tirelessly to involve women directly in deciding on principles and
priorities to put before unions and government, in order to achieve
real opportunities for women.
The ASMP provides an opportunity for women union members to participate
in their own union and learn about organising, industrial
representation and other union activities. Participants are provided
with a two week training program designed to give women an insight on
how unions operate and how they can be more active within their union.
It also provides the opportunity for women to get together to network
and share ideas and skills.
This year the ASMP will be held from 24th May - 4th June 2010. The
focus is on “Solidarity in Diversity”. The women
participants will “work shadow” industrial officers and
organisers as they go about their union work. The on-the-job training
will be broken up with seminars and conducted in conjunction with SA
Unions.
The PSA will be selecting two women to participate. Expressions of interests are sought by close of business, 31st March 2010.
To register your interest in this project or if you require further information, please contact Kathy Tsorvas on email kt@cpsu.asn.au or phone 8205 3271.
Please contact the PSA at 122 Pirie Street, Adelaide SA 5000 or fax on (08) 8223 6509 for an application form.
The ASMP is an accredited Trade Union Training course.
