DTEI ENGINEER REMUNERATION REVIEW CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE

On Monday 15 March, the PSA attended the inaugural meeting of the DTEI Engineer Remuneration Review Consultative Committee.

The PSA was represented by PSA member Rachel Prashanth and Senior Industrial Officer Simon Johnson.

The establishment of the Committee is a result of Clause 28.1.1 of the new South Australian Government Wages Parity (Salaried) Enterprise Agreement 2010 which states:

"By not later than than 31 December 2010. the Chief Executive of the DTEI will in consultation with the PSA and APESMA, have completed a genuine consultative review of the remuneration arrangements applying to professional engineers, including the appropriate application of the work level definitions to classification levels.  Subject to any alternative process agreed with the PSA and APESMA, the review process will include the distribution of a discussion paper by not later than 31 December 2010"

The Committee discussed membership representation, Terms of Reference for the group, as well as frequency of meetings. This was expected considering it was the first meeting of the Committee following certification of the Agreement on 14 January 2010.

As a result of discussions, it is expected that confirmed Terms of Reference will be forwarded shortly.

The PSA will continue to keep members informed of progress.
