ELECTION, SERVICES AND THE COMMUNITY
It may be some time before the final outcome of the SA election is known, although at present it appears the Rann Government is likely to be returned. There are already some clear results however. A strong economy, festivals and tough stance on crime does not excuse a failure to deliver sound public services for the community. PSA members and others in the community have been calling for a thoughtful response to the complex issues facing our community. Ms Redmond's approach has clearly resonated with a significant number of voters, while those seen as responsible for public sector cuts have suffered the greatest swings against them. The PSA is pleased that Mr Rann has promised to listen, and to change. Ms Redmond has also promised a consultative approach. The PSA looks forward to working with them to enhance public services for the community. (Peter
