WHERE MANAGEMENT FAIL PSA SUCCEED
At a meeting of Shared Services SA Payroll members this afternoon, the following motion was unanimously endorsed by members: "That
this meeting of members determine the following: From transition to date workload issues have become worse, despite issues continually identified and raised with local management. These excessive workloads have impacted on members' Occupational, Health, Safety and Welfare. Effective immediately, PSA members will not answer phone calls , respond to email queries, participate in statistical collection, or any consequential work generated from phone calls or emails. PSA members are committed to securing a safe working environment." Today's meeting occurred as result of a meeting with Shared Services SA Management on Wednesday 31 March 2010. Management refused to conduct an independent assessment of workloads as previously requested by members. Payroll members have shown good faith in this process, which was demonstrated on 19 March 2010 whereby industrial bans were lifted to enable genuine discussions to occur with Management regarding workloads. Management have failed in their responsibility to provide a safe working environment. The PSA will not fail in ensuring members work in a safe and healthy working environment For enquiries please contact PSA Industrial Officer Marg Jeffries on 8205 3295 or email mj@cpsu.asn.au
