MENTAL HEALTH IMPLEMENTATION PROPOSEDSENIOR MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE &
DRAFT JOB DESCRIPTIONS
The Public Service Association is participating in a series of consultative working groups that have been established to implement the recommendations arising from the Community Mental Health Services Review 2008 and the Stepping Up Report for adult mental health services. PSA Industrial Officer, Sue Cummins has been attending the WORKFORCE TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSITION GROUP meetings, which have been developing an organisational structure and a set of draft HR Principles to guide employee transition into the new arrangements. The PSA, ANMF and SASMOA have to date not signed off or agreed to these draft HR Principles. These Principles will not be finalised until the proposed integrated team organisational structures are released for comment. It is a concern to the PSA that the draft Job & Person Specifications for the Senior Management Structure have been released without the proposed integrated team structures being released. The Organisational Structures that have been released for both Mental Health Units in Southern Adelaide Health Service (SAHS) and Central Northern Adelaide Health Service (CNAHS) are functional charts only and do not include any team structures. The PSA has identified a number of concerns about the draft job descriptions. These include:
