LOTTERIES EB UPDATE
The Lotteries Commission of South
Australia Enterprise Agreement 2010 was considered by the Industrial
Relations Commission of SA on Friday 4th June and is expected to come
into effect from that date.
This follows the overwhelming acceptance of the Agreement by SA Lotteries staff.
The Agreement includes a one-off payment of $600 subject to conditions
and general salary increases to be backdated to apply from October 2009
with further increases in October 2010 and October 2011. In addition,
the Agreement provides improvements to paid maternity and adoption
leave provisions, and to overtime and oncall rates.
In discussions with members during enterprise agreement negotiations
the PSA was asked to pursue the establishment of regular consultative
meetings involving SA Lotteries and PSA representatives. Such bodies,
which are common in the public sector, can provide an avenue for the
inter-change of information between the parties and formal consultation
on new initiatives that impact on staff and their working conditions.
The PSA has been advised that SA Lotteries management are not agreeable
for such a body to be established, preferring to retain the less formal
arrangements that currently exist.
Members are reminded that if they have particular issues relating to
their role at Lotteries, then they should be raised with the relevant
supervisor or Manager in the first instance and, if necessary, with the
Human Resources Manager. Naturally, the PSA can and should be involved
if this process fails to resolve the issue or at an earlier stage if
the member or members involved believe that this would be appropriate.
With regard to the Replacement Online Lotteries System, the PSA has
been advised that a variety of mechanisms are in place to ensure that
any staff concerns are able to be raised and addressed.
