SHARED SERVICES UPDATE ON WORKLOAD ISSUES AND CURRENT BANS
The
Public Service Association (PSA) thanks all members who attended the
lunch time meeting outside Wakefield House on Tuesday 15 June 2010.
The PSA attended the Shared Services Consultative Meeting the same
afternoon and provided management with an update of the ballot results
and a summary of the comments members provided to assist with assessing
the overall situation.
The PSA again discussed the need to commence some dialogue with the
department in an aim to progress and resolve the workload issues.
Management response was that they had explained to us what they had
done and could do nothing more. The PSA expressed concern with their
response and stated we should be meeting to discuss a way forward.
The PSA raised the issue of our members being allocated additional work
whilst they had workload issues, management however thought this was
appropriate. The PSA reconfirmed our members position in relation to
their motion which was put in place to assist member's workload
issues as management had failed to do so.
The PSA have been provided with a copy of Damian Bourke's email to all
staff. The PSA are disappointed with his statement that the PSA have
after repeated requests failed to provide specific workload issues.
It has been the PSA that has placed workload issues on the agenda of
the Consultative Meeting and the PSA that have sought discussions to
work toward resolving issues and have placed as an agenda item at the
Consultative Meetings.
The PSA at 4:51 pm Tuesday 22 June 2010 received NOTIFICATION OF
INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE TO INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS COMMISSION OF SA PAYROLL
STAFF, SHARED SERVICES SA. We await a time and date to be fixed by the
IRC and will provide this information to members. Our Councilor
and Work site Representative will attend the hearing with our
industrial officer.
