In response to a Business SA proposal to remove public sector tenure, Treasurer Kevin Foley said on tv's Channel 9 on Friday, 13 August 2010 “Well, let's just see.”

Premier Rann, in a formal pre-election commitment to the PSA on 1 February 2010, stated “As we did prior to the 2006 election, and as we have done repeatedly since that time, the Government recommits for the duration of its next term to no forced redundancies for tenured employees.”

The Public Service Association and its members expect that commitment to be honoured.
