PROPOSED HEALTH CHANGES ARISING FROM THE STATE BUDGET
In
response to a PSA request for details of how SA Health is intending to
implement budget initiatives. The PSA received the following response
from Dr. Tony Sherbon Chief Executive SA Health:-
“Specifically in relation to each of the initiatives announced:
Review
of Out Patient Services. SA Health will establish a Reference Group,
chaired by the Chief Executive, SA Health, which will also include
union representation;
Consolidation of Corporate Services and the establishment of Adelaide
Health Service (AHS). Consultation in relation to this initiative has
already begun and will continue via AHS Industrial Liaison Forum (ILF)
until the new service is established;
Standardisation of car parking fees. Consultation over implementation
of the new fee structure will take place through the regional ILF's;
Consolidation of pharmacy, medical imaging, medical equipment
sterilisation and biomedical engineering. Formal and specific
consultation mechanisms will be established as part of the project; and
Community Recovery Centres.
This
project will be led by the Mental Health Unit, SA Health. Consultative
mechanisms will be established as part of the project.
The letter assured the PSA that SA Health is committed to consulting
with the PSA as per Clause 25 of the 2010 Enterprise Agreement.
Subsequently PSA has received a letter from David Swan, Executive
Director Operations Division proposing to establish a formal
consultative committee regarding the consolidation of Medical Imaging
Services across the Public Sector.
