CONSOLIDATION OF SA HEALTH MEDICAL IMAGING SERVICES
Further to
previous briefs, PSA has recently received a letter from SA Health
which provides an update of the consolidation of SA Health Medical
Imaging Services.
They advise that Ernst and Young have now been engaged to undertake the
review of existing imaging services and provide recommendations on the
best solution for the establishment of a state-wide service for
implementation by 1 July 2011 and a project governance committee
structure has been established.
The structure includes a SA Imaging Steering Committee whose inaugural
meeting was held on 16 November 2010 and a range of subcommittees are
being established to provide expert advice in the following identified
areas:
Finance
*
HR and Industrial Relations
*
Clinical, Research, Teaching and Training
*
Workflow/ Service Model
*
Communications, and
*
Business Strategic Planning
*
SA Health further advise
that Ernst and Young will be working closely with these subcommittees
and relevant health unit sites over the coming weeks to gain a
comprehensive insight into the current imaging environment and will
provide recommendations for consideration by mid February 2011.
