GOVERNMENT GETS ITS "FACTS" WRONG
WAGES PARITY ENTERPRISE BARGAINING

The PSA has just seen the Government so called “Fact Sheet” for the Wages Parity ballot.

Put bluntly, it is wrong and totally misleading.

The Government statement that “in-principle agreement has been reached on nearly all of the matters included in the proposed agreement” is incorrect.

PSA identified to Government in writing on 26 May 2004 twenty (20) issues which were outstanding. This was also subsequently confirmed by PSA in the Industrial Relations Commission.

For the Government “Fact Sheet” to then go on and say that agreement has not been reached on just the three issues of quantum, maternity leave and duration of the agreement is absolutely wrong, and highly misleading.

The mis-information issued by Government seriously impacts upon employees ability to make an informed decision, and the PSA has demanded that a corrected advice be issued by Government immediately.
