ALLOWANCES
The PSA advised in a brief dated 21 July 2004 that the On Call Allowances proposed in Governments' proposed Enterprise Agreement (subject to ballot) decreased the allowances by 10 cents as and from 1 October 2004. Subsequently, the Government advised the PSA of a correction and re-issued pg. 11 of their proposed Enterprise Agreement 2004. This stated: 10.3 On-Call Allowances 10.2.1 Employees bound by this Agreement, who are rostered to be on-call of a night time, will be paid an allowance for each night as follows: (a) $12.10 on and from 1 October 2004; and (b) $12.50 on and from 1 October 2005. 10.2.2 Employees bound by this Agreement, who are rostered to be on-call during a full Saturday, Sunday or public holiday or any day that the employee would normally be rostered off duty, will be paid an allowance per day as follows: (a) $24.10 on and from 1 October 2004; and (b) $24.90 on and from 1 October 2005. The current rates are: $11.70 per night, $23.30 Saturday, Sunday and public holiday. These rates were increased by 4% on 1 October 2003 at the same time as employees covered by the 2001 Enterprise Agreement received a 4% pay increase. The increases proposed by the Government are 3.5% at 1 October 2004 and 1 October 2005, consistent with their salary offer. The PSA claim is for 6% increase at 1 October 2004 and 6% at 1 October 2005 consistent with the PSA salary claim. 28 July 2004 VOTE *NO* FOR WAGE JUSTICE |
