PSA to Attend Directions Hearing

The PSA has received notification from the Full Industrial Relations Commission of South Australia advising that a Directions Hearing will be held on Monday, 13 December 2004 at 9.00 am.

The Directions Hearing will consider procedures, and the setting of Hearing dates, for the Arbitration case which will determine the final salary increase and also the amount of paid maternity leave.

Legislative Council Inquiry – Crown Solicitor's Trust Account (CSTA)

The PSA has advised the Select Committee that it will make a submission to the Inquiry into the CSTA.

The Auditor General has highlighted concerns with the use of the Trust Account. The PSA has concerns that members across the Public Sector could suffer harm in their employment as a result of difficulty with conflicting Government objectives, and difficulties regarding current end of year roll over procedures.

The PSA Submission will identify systemic concerns and recommend appropriate systemic changes to financial procedures. Members wishing to have input to the PSA submission are invited to confidentially contact Peter Christopher, Chief Industrial Officer.
