PAY CASE ARBITRATION STARTS
The
Parity Arbitration Pay case for a 12% pay increase commenced before a
Full Bench of the South Australian Industrial Relations Commission at
10 a.m. this morning.
Mr. David Quick, QC commenced submissions on behalf of the PSA. In addition to Mr. Quick, the PSA was represented by General Secretary Jan McMahon, Chief Industrial Officer Peter Christopher and legal counsel Peter Moloney. PSA President Lindsay Oxlad, Assistant General Secretary Nev Kitchin, together with senior officials, Worksite Representatives and members, also attended the hearing. Professor James Guthrie provided expert witness evidence based on his analysis of Agency Annual Reports and SA Government Budget Statements. Professor Guthrie's Departmental Budgetary Resource and Performance Analysis identifies performance improvements within the SA Public Sector. Professor Guthrie presented his evidence today and Government has commenced cross-examination of him in respect to his evidence. The Hearing will continue on Monday 14 March.
